The Camera

Camera obscura - A dark chamber in which the real image of an object is received through a small opening or lens.

Image Sensor - A device that converts an optical image into an electric signal  .

Film Frames - One of many still images which compose the complete moving picture.

Shutter Button - Is a push button found on many cameras, used to take pictures.

Aperture - A space through which light passes in an optical or photographic instrument.

Shutter - A mechanical device of a camera that controls the time of a photographic exposure,  by opening and closing to allow light coming through the lens to expose a plate or film.

Exposure - The state of being exposed to contact with something.

Depth of Field - characteristic of a camera that can be used to enhance the image composition of the photo.

F-Stop - Ratio of Focal Strength of the lens of the diameter of the aperture.                           

 Focal Length - The distance between the center of a lens or curved mirror and its focus.


Auto Focus - An optical system uses a sensor, a control system and a motor to focus fully or on a manually selected point or area.

Optical Zoom Button - Refers to the physical zoom abilities of a camera lens, in which the elements of the lens are manipulated to give greater magnification.
